Introducing the New eDVIR Feature in the Penske Driver™ Mobile App

Penske Truck Leasing has announced the latest enhancement to its Penske Driver™ mobile app: the electronic driver vehicle inspection report (eDVIR) feature.

Streamlining Vehicle Inspections

The new eDVIR feature allows truck drivers to submit their vehicle inspection reports electronically through the Penske Driver app. This transition from paper forms to digital submissions ensures faster and more accurate reporting, streamlining the inspection process.

Real-Time Access for Fleet Managers

Fleet managers benefit from immediate access to inspection reports through Fleet Insight™, Penske’s real-time fleet management platform. This real-time visibility enables quick resolution of issues, reducing downtime and enhancing operational efficiency.

“Our new eDVIR capability represents a step forward in how we support our customers’ compliance and maintenance needs,” said Brandie Searle, vice president of digital product management at Penske. “By responding to customer feedback with this highly requested feature, we enable electronic submissions and real-time visibility, helping fleet managers address issues quickly and effectively.”

Enhancing Compliance and Maintenance

The eDVIR feature is designed to maintain compliance with Department of Transportation regulations. Exclusive to Penske leased, maintained, or rented vehicles, the eDVIR system integrates seamlessly with Penske’s maintenance operations. Submitted defect reports are automatically sent to the maintenance system, and detailed mechanic notes and resolution statuses are communicated back to the telematics system, keeping drivers and fleet managers informed with up-to-date repair information.
