The Penske team, an extension of your fleet maintenance department
Managing a fleet is challenging. Necessary tasks – managing multiple vendors, paying invoices, reviewing estimates, and analyzing repair cost at the unit and component level – take time away from your core business. As fleets continue to grow and vehicles become more complex, we can help you keep pace.
At Penske, our managed maintenance team is an extension of your team. This allows you to focus on your business while we focus on your fleet. We provide:
Through our managed maintenance program, we provide the same level of oversight as we do in Penske shops. Our network of Penske-approved service providers offers preventive maintenance and repairs for customers who are unable to utilize our Penske-owned service network due to location or operation.
Our staff of ASE-certified and Penske and OEM-trained repair specialists works with customers to coordinate preventive maintenance and repairs through a nationwide network of service providers. Our repair specialists deliver the best value by knowing how long repairs should take, what they should cost, and the best parts to use.
Our expectations of our service providers are based on our experience performing over one million PMs with our own technicians each year. Our focus on preventive maintenance helps fleet owners improve their Compliance, Safety, Accountability (CSA) scores as measured by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, and it also improves uptime.
Our team generates the repair request, contacts the service provider, reviews the diagnosis, and stays connected throughout the repair. We are actively involved from start to finish, and we manage all facets of the repair process for you.
Our team is available 24/7/365, and our experts are equipped with everything they need to protect your vehicles, drivers and cargo. We handle breakdowns, flat tires, towing, accident remediation and more.
We negotiate a full rate card that addresses regular, holiday and weekend hours for each primary service provider. We also strive to eliminate additional fees (such as environmental fees or unspecified shop supply costs) when possible. We leverage service provider relationships and our own data for pricing efficiencies, and we measure against our own benchmarks to ensure quality repairs. If any estimate exceeds the expected threshold, we work with you to obtain the necessary approvals before giving the service provider approval to do the work. This high level of transparency gives you the data and control you need to manage your fleet efficiently.
Because Penske operates our own fleet of more than 400,000 vehicles, we have purchasing power that cannot be matched. From tires to transmissions, we have the ability to leverage our volume to drive savings.
We provide you 24/7 access to your detailed fleet information, including preventive maintenance, repair and billing data in Fleet Insight™. We prepare you with the right information to make accurate and timely decisions that will help you get the most out of your fleet, and we have a dedicated team to help consult with you throughout that process.
We take care of all of the coordination of service and parts providers. All you do is call us. At the end of each month, you get one itemized bill. It's that simple.
